Amplifier recommednation for the Altec 511B horn GPA driver

The speakers consist of an Altec 511B horn and an Acoustic Elegance Dipole 15 inch woofer an an aluminium open baffle.

The speakers will be fully active.

The woofers amplifier will be an Altec 9440A stereo power amplifier.

Looking for recommendtaions for a stereo amplifier for the Altec 511B horns (driver 902 8ohm) or

mono amplifier.

Another Altec 9440A (2x200W) for the horns seams to be to much power even if the output can be set to 40% and on each channel can the volume can be adjusted.

But it may be an alternative ? However , these seams rare to find today.

Any suggestions appreciated.

As all amplifiers have their own sound characteristics you really have to try and mix and match for what sounds best to you.. We all have different sound preferences.. Some like to use tubes for the highs and SS for the bass..

9444a not b sound good can be found cheap- I sold one for 75 a couple years back. 9442a are good too but less common.
